Flexor Pollicis Brevis

Pointer Plus

The Pointer Plus is an easy to use trigger point (TP) locator which incorporates a push button stimulation feature to immediately treat Trigger point pain.

 

The Flexor Pollicis Brevis is a muscle of the hand.

Anatomical Attachments:

  • Origin: Attaches to the flexor retinaculum and the trapezium bone.
  • Insertion: Attaches to the base of the thumb.

Action: Flexes the thumb at the MP joint.

Synergist:  Abductor pollicis brevis, Opponens pollicis, and Adductor pollicis.

Antagonist: Palmaris brevis, Abductor digiti minimi, Flexor digiti minimi, Opponens digiti minimi.

Nerve Supply: Deep branch of the ulnar and median nerve.

Vascular supply: Superficial volar branch of the radial artery.
